Catherine Goodman Lecture - Drawing Becomes Painting, 23 Nov 2016
In this lecture at the Royal Drawing School, Shoreditch, Catherine Goodman will explore the different ways in which drawing informs her painting and print-making. The act of drawing from observation is central to Goodman's practice and she has spent the last six years drawing from Old Master paintings in The National Gallery. This lecture will examine the process of working from drawings in making paintings and prints, with reference to landscape, people and film.
Goodman's upcoming Solo Exhibition at Marlborough Fine Art London (18 November - January 2017) includes works on paper alongside large oil paintings of figures and landscapes, and a new series of lithographs that take inspiration from the great twentieth century filmmakers, Andrei Tarkovsky and Federico Fellini.
